MANZANILLO

Just north of Santa Teresa, Manzanillo is a quiet coastal town known for its long, empty
beaches and peaceful pace. It’s the kind of place where you can walk for stretches without
seeing another person, especially during the week.
At low tide, the ocean reveals natural tide pools that form along the rocks, creating calm, clear
swimming spots that feel like hidden lagoons. They’re perfect for floating, exploring, and
cooling off on hot days.
Manzanillo is also home to a few small, local Costa Rican restaurants that serve simple,
authentic food in an unhurried setting.
It’s about a 25-minute drive from Santa Teresa, and the journey itself is part of the experience.
The road winds along the coastline with ocean views, jungle stretches, and open sky, making it
one of the most scenic drives in the area.
